Ankr to Support TAC’s EVM-Compatible Expansion on TON

-

Ankr has been selected to play a key role in the expansion of the TON Network through TAC, a newly introduced extension that ensures full compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). This development enables Ethereum-based projects to integrate seamlessly with the TON blockchain, significantly broadening their reach. By leveraging this extension, developers gain access to an extensive user base that includes 100 million active wallets within TON and the nearly 950 million users on Telegram.

TAC is designed using the Cosmos SDK in combination with Ethermint, a framework that facilitates EVM execution within the Cosmos ecosystem. The integration of these technologies allows for smooth interoperability between Ethereum-based applications and TON, enhancing the overall accessibility of decentralized finance (DeFi) and other blockchain-based services.

Enhanced Security Through Bitcoin Staking

To strengthen security and decentralization, TAC incorporates Babylon’s Bitcoin staking protocol. This addition enhances the underlying infrastructure by utilizing Bitcoin’s robust network, making the TAC ecosystem more resilient. Moreover, the framework supports restaking functionalities for various assets, including Teleport BTC (tgBTC), stTON, and tsTON. These assets contribute to the network’s liquidity while reinforcing the stability and reliability of transactions conducted within the ecosystem.

As a key component of the initiative, TAC is the first blockchain to implement Ankr’s Bitcoin Secured Infrastructure. This mechanism facilitates a bridge between Ethereum’s extensive liquidity and TON’s scalable environment, thereby improving transaction efficiency and fostering greater engagement in Web3 activities. By combining Ethereum’s financial ecosystem with TON’s expansive user base, the project seeks to drive adoption within Telegram’s blockchain ecosystem.

Advancing Web3 Innovation Within Telegram

The collaboration between Ankr and TAC highlights a significant step in expanding the capabilities of blockchain applications within Telegram’s digital landscape. By enabling Ethereum projects to operate within TON’s infrastructure, the initiative creates new opportunities for developers and users alike. The integration of Bitcoin staking further fortifies security while enhancing overall decentralization, positioning TAC as a crucial development in the Web3 space.

As blockchain adoption continues to grow, the introduction of EVM compatibility within TON is expected to attract more developers looking to deploy decentralized applications in a high-traffic environment. With Ankr providing critical support, TAC aims to establish a seamless connection between Ethereum and TON, driving innovation and expanding the reach of blockchain-powered solutions across Telegram’s vast user base.
