Cambria Expands Multi-Chain Presence with Abstract Integration

The web-based risk-to-earn MMO, Cambria, is set to expand its multi-chain gaming experience by incorporating Abstract Chain. Rather than shifting its operations entirely, this move serves as an extension to its existing networks. To date, Cambria has engaged over 100,000 lifetime players across Ronin and Blast, surpassing a total game volume of $130 million. With this latest expansion, the game aims to widen its player base by offering additional blockchain options.

By integrating Abstract, Cambria provides users with an alternative network to interact with, especially those who prefer Pudgy Penguins’ blockchain over Ronin or Blast. The existing networks remain operational, ensuring that current users are not required to transfer their assets to continue playing.

Enhancements and Upcoming Features

The development team has conveyed confidence in Abstract’s potential to enhance the gaming experience, referring to it as the leading consumer chain. However, specific details regarding exclusive incentives for Abstract users have not yet been disclosed. Further information is expected to be revealed during the upcoming season, encouraging players to stay informed about potential benefits.

Insights into Cambria’s next season have emerged following an AMA session, shedding light on major upgrades planned for late February or early March. The second season will introduce significant changes to the game’s economic framework. Among the anticipated additions is a new gameplay feature known as “gamble dungeons.” Entry into these high-stakes areas will require expensive keys, and players will face a risk-reward system designed to heighten engagement.

Further adjustments aim to minimize excessive grinding while transforming the Duel Arena into a more event-driven experience. Developers plan to introduce weekend tournaments and game nights, hosted by Abstract streamers, where players can earn XP rewards exclusive to Abstract’s ecosystem.

A Blockchain-Driven Fantasy Adventure

Taking inspiration from RuneScape, Cambria delivers an immersive top-down fantasy setting infused with blockchain-based gaming mechanics. Players engage in high-stakes modes, such as Gold Rush and Duel Arena, which add both player-versus-environment (PvE) and player-versus-player (PvP) challenges to the experience.

Gold Rush: This mode revolves around resource gathering, where players mine, fish, and craft essential gear. The limited availability of resources increases competition, while high-risk dungeons provide opportunities to secure rare artifacts and loot.

Duel Arena: A competitive mode that enables players to stake ETH in intense 1v1 battles. For Season 2, Abstract XP rewards are set to become a primary incentive for participants.

Evolution of Cambria’s Blockchain Integration

Originally launched on Blast, Cambria became part of Ronin Forge in September 2024. The game introduced an early alpha season in November, during which players had a four-day play-to-earn window. By December, Ronin users were able to mint Cambria Cores, which could be staked to generate Shards. These Shards allowed players to mint Companions—intelligent in-game followers that can now be traded as NFTs.

With the integration of Abstract, Cambria continues its evolution in the blockchain gaming space, providing players with increased flexibility and new opportunities for engagement. As details unfold in the coming season, the game’s community can anticipate further enhancements to its already dynamic ecosystem.
