RedStone has unveiled a significant advancement in oracle technology with the introduction of RedStone Bolt, a solution that is currently being recognized as the fastest blockchain oracle to date. Designed to cater to the growing demand for real-time blockchain interactions, Bolt has been deployed exclusively on the MegaETH testnet, a network known for its ultra-low latency and high-speed architecture. This launch is being seen as a foundational shift in how oracles support decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, especially those requiring high-frequency data updates.

Meeting the Demands of Real-Time Blockchains

MegaETH operates with a block generation speed of just 10 milliseconds, a pace that demands equally rapid synchronization of external data sources. RedStone Bolt has been engineered to meet this requirement, ensuring that every new block on the network contains the most up-to-date market pricing information. According to reports, the oracle can deliver up to 400 price updates per second, effectively updating data every 2.4 milliseconds. This performance not only aligns with MegaETH’s output but also surpasses existing industry standards by a wide margin.

The limitations of traditional oracle models are being highlighted in comparison. Conventional push-based oracles, such as the ETH/USD feed on the Ethereum mainnet, typically provide only 40 to 60 updates in a full day. RedStone Bolt, by contrast, is reportedly over half a million times faster, effectively positioning it as a transformative tool for applications requiring real-time responsiveness.

A Breakthrough in Push Oracle Technology

Blockchain oracles generally operate under two models: push and pull. The pull model, while faster and more cost-efficient, requires modifications to smart contracts, which complicates integration for developers. Push models, though slower, are more compatible with existing DeFi protocols. RedStone Bolt distinguishes itself by combining the advantages of both approaches. It is reportedly the first real-time oracle to use the push model, enabling immediate integration with widely-used protocols such as AAVE, Compound, and Morpho, among others.

Bolt’s high-speed capabilities are underpinned by several architectural innovations. Its nodes are geographically co-located with MegaETH sequencer nodes to reduce transmission delays. It maintains direct connections with major exchanges like Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, OKX, and Bitget, allowing real-time price monitoring. Data is transmitted through high-speed gateways to MegaETH nodes, ensuring that each block contains price feeds reflecting the latest market movements.

This approach eliminates the reliance on traditional methods that depend on heartbeat intervals or deviation thresholds to trigger updates. Instead, Bolt synchronizes data continuously, delivering high granularity and accuracy without added latency.

Modular Design with Proven Track Record

Bolt benefits from RedStone’s existing modular oracle framework, which allows for quick deployment of new innovations without compromising on security or reliability. RedStone’s infrastructure already supports over 70 blockchain networks and serves more than 150 institutional clients, which has established its reputation as a dependable provider in the oracle space.

Onboarding Bolt on MegaETH has been designed to be straightforward. Developers can use the same interface as traditional push oracles, making the transition frictionless. Early adopters on the MegaETH testnet have reportedly begun to leverage Bolt’s capabilities, gaining access to real-time data streams with minimal configuration effort.

A New Chapter for Decentralized Finance

With RedStone Bolt, the standards for oracle performance are being reset. The technology’s promise lies in enabling a new generation of DeFi applications that are not constrained by slow or inflexible data feeds. As the blockchain space moves towards real-time interactions, Bolt is expected to play a central role in ensuring that oracles enhance rather than limit user and protocol performance.
