Wagyu Games has officially relaunched Undead Blocks, its zombie-themed Web3 shooter, on the Avalanche blockchain, marking a new chapter in the game’s evolution. The move comes alongside a strategic partnership with decentralized exchange Blackhole, which is expected to strengthen the game’s token economy and amplify its marketing efforts.
Initially released in 2022 on Ethereum and Immutable, Undead Blocks attracted attention with its kill-to-earn model and NFT-based gameplay mechanics. The original version allowed players holding Genesis Weapon NFTs to earn Gold ZBUX, a reward token with real-world value, through competitive gameplay. While casual players could also access off-chain rewards, delays in major features, including the mobile version, slowed the game’s momentum.
The relaunch signifies a substantial upgrade, with the backend and token infrastructure now migrated to Avalanche to benefit from the network’s scalability and performance. The transition includes bridging the $UNDEAD token to Avalanche, paving the way for more fluid in-game transactions and expanded feature integration. Blackhole is contributing by supporting exchange listings, launching co-branded marketing initiatives, and hosting trading competitions to attract attention from new and returning users.
Expanded Ecosystem and Gameplay Enhancements
The updated version of Undead Blocks introduces new maps, weapons, and tournament formats while reinstating the popular Gold ZBUX rewards system. The game’s skin collection, originally hosted on Immutable, will also be fully migrated to Avalanche, aligning the digital assets with the new infrastructure.

Wagyu Games has announced plans to launch its own NFT marketplace and rental platform, along with a stake-to-mint feature that will allow players to engage more actively with the game’s ecosystem. These new tools are designed to give users greater control over their assets and deepen player involvement.
In addition to these core features, the relaunch introduces immersive enhancements like a Blood Box reward mechanic and a Music Jukebox to elevate in-game atmosphere. A reworked user interface and detailed map improvements are also part of the initial post-relaunch upgrades.
Looking Ahead: Roadmap into 2026
According to the development roadmap, the third quarter of 2025 will see several infrastructure improvements, including the migration of game servers to Google Cloud, a revamped user interface, and renewed development of the mobile version. Other updates planned during this period include new character skins, weapon additions, and VIP tournaments.
By early 2026, the mobile version of Undead Blocks is set to launch, complete with an integrated in-game store that will support both debit and credit card payments. A battle pass system will be introduced to enhance progression, while mobile-specific game modes such as Squads Mobile will follow shortly after.
The second quarter of 2026 will bring additional features, including enhanced customization options for character clothing and accessories. Players can also look forward to the debut of the Graveyard map and further NFT drops designed to keep the community engaged and active.
With the move to Avalanche and a comprehensive roadmap in place, Wagyu Games appears focused on revitalizing Undead Blocks for long-term success in the competitive Web3 gaming space. The partnership with Blackhole and the expanded ecosystem signal a commitment to not only improving gameplay but also reinforcing community engagement through decentralized infrastructure.
